Rest in peace Rosemarie! We have only just found out that you passed away! I wondered why there had been no usual email response after Christmas.
Lots of love from Silvia D., Helmut and Gisela and family; relatives from Germany.
And thanks for being there for me all these years ago when I worked and travelled in the Big Apple for the first time!

My deepest condolences to the family, friends and students of dear Rosemarie. She was a treasured friend of mine for almost 50 years. Our visits, correspondence and phone calls will always hold a special place in my heart. We shared a love for music, languages and animals over the years. I will miss her friendship, but know she lived a beautiful life and now rests in peace. Alles Liebe, Susanna Schaus Kane, Manitowoc, Wisconsin

I remember when Miss Walz came to teach German at Grover Cleveland H.S. In Ridgewood NY. I was a student in my second year of taking German.. and I was at best a mediocre student.. Miss Walz was always caring and helpful.. Fast forward almost 50 years and I walk into Trinity Reformed Church in Ridgewood after 50 years of moving to areas far away from Ridgewood… one of the people that I found there was Miss Walz and to my great surprise she remembered me. Wow! Fifty years later and she continued to be this very kind and caring person..
I would send her pictures of my granddaughters and she remembered their names and asked always about the rest of the family..
I will miss our conversations but I’m very sure that she is in a place that she believed with every fiber of her being …in heaven ..

I had Rosemarie as my German teacher in Grover Cleveland H.S. from 1966-1969. she was one of my favorites. We kept in touch all these years. I had moved back to Austria from 1972 till 1980, we would correspond the good old fashion was via snail mail. She was one of a kind, a gentle sweet soul, will miss her calling me mein Karolinchen was hoping to visit her this June. RIP you’ll never be forgotten

I remember the beautiful piano playing Rosemarie always treated the Congregation of the Astoria Fellowship Chapel to, on Sunday mornings. And the beautiful poems she always read from the Pulpit on special Holidays!
She was a beautiful Soul.
