Paula Kamme

Obituary of Paula Stine Kamme

She lived to be 95 years old.   Was still walking up to her 2nd floor apartment until March of 2022 when she fell on Fresh Pond Road and broke her hip.  She never fully recovered from that and has lived in St Vincent's Nursing Home in Cedar Grove, NJ since May of 2022.  She went to mass regularly at the nursing home until last few months.

Paula immigrated to the US from Yugoslavia (which is now Slovenia) in her early 20's and became a proud citizen of the USA.

Paula and Ernest Kamme purchased their house on Linden St in 1958 where they lived together until Ernest passed away in 2015. They had many family and friends gatherings and celebrations at their home. Paula was a great cook and baked the best apple strudel!!   Paula continued to live there until her fall in 2022.

Paula is also predeceased by her son Ernest Kamme who died in 2014.

Paula attended OLMM Church for over 65 years.  Her 2 daughters Rosemarie Sweetwood and Diane Shimborske attended OLMM school.

She loved her family including her 2 son-in-laws, Jonathan Sweetwood and Michael Shimborske.    She has 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren : Alexander Sweetwood (wife Jacqueline and daughters Laila and Sadie), Dana Thau (husband Mikey and daughter Eliza and son Jesse), Justin Shimborske (and fiance Lauren Broker), Jack Sweetwood (and wife Kim, and newborn son Emmett), and Mackenzie Sweetwood!

She loved her family very much and had the most beautiful smile that lit up her blue eyes when she was around them!
