Obituary of Ronald Paul Gentile
It is with heavy hearts and minds that we say farewell to our Ronnie. On Friday March 22, 2024 at the age of 66 Ronald Paul Gentile of Columbus, OH raised in Maspeth, Queens, NY left this world for the next. We will forever miss his unique way of loving; loving his family, loving his friends and loving his beautiful daughter, Heather. When his head wasn’t in an engine or behind a service counter, it was on the water where he truly loved to be. Ronnie was an avid boater and spent his best days out on any one of his many boats. We will always remember those good times on the water thanks to Captain Ron.
Ronnie held many things dear to his heart but nothing compared to the love he had for his chosen family: Mark Palermo & family, The Tommaso family & company, Anthony Rullo, Joseph P. Nolty, John Swift were all ingredients in an illicit cocktail that Ronnie enjoyed until his last breath. Not to mention the friends that left the party too soon and were waiting for him on the other side hopefully with Jerry Garcia and other potent ingredients. Dead Head for life. He loved all of his friends at the College Point Yacht Club, where his decades long membership was something to be proud of, which he very much was. And of course an honorable mention to a few of Ron’s great loves: Debbi Barradas, Randi Rickman, The Doodle Bug, The Connie C. and The Happy Hours...
Ron is survived by his daughter Heather C Gentile, mother Susan Gentile, his siblings Dante Gentile, Victoria (William) Preston, Cherie (Henry) Moore, Martin (Gale) Gentile and Regina (Anthony) DeFazio. Ronald loved his nieces and nephews more than the average fun uncle. Danielle, ToniAnn, Lynne Marie, Joshua, Sarah, Gary, Matthew, Kelly, Christopher, Andrew, John, Elizabeth and Michael will cherish the memories of Uncle Ronnie chasing them around the house and tossing them here and there. Ron is preceded in death by his father John Earle Gentile and his sister-in-law Caroline (Dante) Gentile.
Fair winds and following seas, Ronnie.
