Obituary of Nabil Fares Iskandar

Nabil Iskander, 77, passed away peacefully and surrounded by his loved ones, on Friday October 27th, 2023 at 6:10pm, at Bellevue Hospital, New York. 

 

Nabil was born on April 6th, 1946 in Cairo, Egypt, to the late Fares Iskander and Negma Elnemr. He is one of three siblings with the oldest being Nadia Fares and the youngest, Maura Fares, who preceded his death. 

 

Nabil was a hardworking man. He began his career as a software engineer for Egypt Air and NCR. He later became a successful business owner of Egypt-Soft, a logistics and programming company. With skill and perseverance, he built his company from the ground up. Nabil earned his masters degree at a very young age from the American University in Cairo.

 

Nabil loved to help others, family, friends, and strangers. He was a very generous man who loved people and life. Nabil loved to laugh and make others laugh as well with his great sense of humor and fun spirit. He was a knowledgable yet humble and simple human.  Nabil was a loving and caring person, devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. To know him was to love him. 

 

Nabil leaves to cherish his loving memory, his wife, Nadia, his children, Nidaa, Nihad - wife of Ramy, and Youssef - husband of Olivia, and five grandchildren: Layal, Gabriel, Fairuz, Fouad, and Nina; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and loving friends. 

 

Nabil will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He will be forever cherished in our hearts as a man who was too special!
