Angelina Iglesias

Obituary of Angelina Iglesias

Angelina Iglesias was born in Peñuelas, Puerto Rico on June 3, 1929. At the age of eighteen, she came to the United States and worked in a coat factory before getting married to Luis Iglesias and starting her family in Brooklyn, New York. She went on to birth six children, Martha, Raymond, Anthony "Tony", Lucy, Milagros and Eddie. She was "grandma" and helped raise many of her 15 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren, and also had 6 great-great-grandchildren. A second mother to so many. Angelina lived for her family - family was everything to her. The queen of the Iglesias family has gone on to be with the lord, our heart is broken, but we have been blessed with 93 years of priceless memories which we will hold dear to our heart forever. A heart of pure gold who treated everyone like family. If you came to her home, she made sure you were fed. If you needed a place to stay, her doors were open. She was the most self-less, giving, caring and loving woman you could meet. A woman of a strength and resilience that was unmatched. And, feisty as can be. She always reminded us by saying "Yo me se defender!" (I know how to defend myself).
