
Obituary of John Thomas Bingel
John Thomas Bingel, aged 54 passed away peacefully on June 6, 2025 in Hartford, CT.
He was born on November 1, 1970 in Queens, New York to parents Ernest and Louise Bingel.
While growing up in Ridgewood, New York, John attended St. Brigid’s Church school through 8th grade. While at St. Brigid’s he was also an altar boy for many years. He then attended Monsignor McClancy Memorial High School then went onto the College of Aeronautics. In 1994 he started his career with Metro North Railroad and worked his way up through the ranks eventually retiring as a Signal Inspector.
John met his love Kelly-Ann in 2000, and they married in 2004. In 2006, they moved from New York and settled in Naugatuck, CT. During their 25 years together, they loved to spend time together traveling. John especially loved to go on cruises. He also attended train and sporting events, visited many train museums and spending time with family and friends. His passion was model trains, he was an avid collector and was a member of two model railroading clubs becoming President of one of them.
John is survived by his wife, Kelly-Ann Bingel, his mother Louise Bingel, brother-in-law/sister-in-law (Kevin and Olga Williams), two nephews (Andrew and Matthew Williams), and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
John was preceded in death by his father Ernest Bingel, grandparents Louis and Mary Bingel, Walter and Florence Hubert , father-in-law/mother-in-law Joseph and Patricia Williams and many other family members and friends.
John will be remembered as a kind-hearted loving husband, son, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. He was always the life of the party, knew how to have a good time and always had a smile on his face. He will be greatly missed by all who came to know him.
