Obituary of Barbara Primosch

Barbara Adele Mertens Primosch, age 76, passed away on Saturday, January 11th, 2019 of pulmonary failure due to COPD at Brooklyn Hospital Center. Barbara lived in Ridgewood, Queens. Barbara was born on October 19th, 1943 in Brooklyn, NY to William and Corneila Mertens, the third of six siblings. After the death of her mother, she was taken in by her father William and Stepmother Tillie and raised with love by the Pagnani family in Ridgewood, Queens. She attended and graduated Grover Cleveland High School, and took classes at FIT. She married Gary Primosch on September 23rd, 1967, and they settled near family in Ridgewood. She is survived by two daughters, Jennifer and Heather, and her grandaughters Kayla and Mia as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Barbara’s passion was photography, eventually becoming a freelancer for such organizations as the Ridgewood Times, The Actors’ Fund and the Episcopal Actors guild. Mainly, she was devoted to her two granddaughters, Kayla, age 12, and Mia, age 4, always looking for ways to create magical and memorable experiences for them. Barbara will be terribly missed by all who were touched by her love and creativity. Donations can be made to the Episcopal Actors Guild in lieu of flowers.
